The Great Lobo

What should you know before going to Batangas?

Batangas is a two to three hour drive from the capital of the Philippines, Manila. It is known for its pristine beaches and delicious foods and it is especially enjoyable when its summer vacation. Batangas is not only known for its beaches but also for the stunning views in every destination. One of the most famous tourist spots locals and foreigners like is Lobo in Batangas which is Originally a logging settlement which is found in 1871 and got its name after the people of Poblacion gathered together decide what they will call the town, then suddenly over Mount Banoy they saw a balloon. Everybody watched and waited for the balloon to fall down. Then, “LOBO” meaning balloon has been adopted through generations and then became the name of entire municipality when it became an independent town. From then on Lobo, Batangas is one of the must travel place in Batangas. Why? because many attractions can be seen in the town. It is known for its white beaches, oozing corals and marine life, if one of your hobbies is snorkeling and diving then this place meant for you. Just a tip of advice. It is best to visit Lobo during summer season except during summer vacations because it will be too crowded. Just try to visit during the dry season so you can enjoy your trip without much rain or storm.

There are many tourist spots in Lobo, Batangas that I still wish to visit but one of the recommended place for you to visit is Faro de Punta de Malabrigo, or Cape Malabrigo. It is said one of the 24 lighthouse built in the spanish colonial period. Malabrigo Lighthouse was built by Jose Garcia and designed by Guillermo Brockman and the construction was finished in 1896 with its Victorian inspired architecture that attracts locals and tourist. This lighthouse can be spotted at the top of a cliff, overlooking the Verde Island and Mindoro. If you also have the passion for photography then you may obtain a beauty of seascapes and its high and low waves. Whenever you travel to Batangas for a vacation or for work, Don’t forget to visit the stunning century old lighthouse. With this in mind, you can try to sightseeing or swim in Malabrigo beach, it is well known for its uniqueness of pebbles instead of sands as its flooring. Also, with crystal clear and azure blue color that might look simple but try to look at it at the mini park on the road to Malabrigo lighthouse because it can change your mind. If you plan on having a swimming you better wear aqua shoes to protect your feet. One thing that I like about this place is that the entrance fee is basically free except for food and hotels. In terms of food you can try to eat along the road or bring your homemade food for your comfortability but I also recommend eating on Restaurants or the Lomi Hause there. For the hotels, you can just purchase a cheap hotel because you can explore Malabrigo in a day if you leave early. Lastly, if you want to avoid crowds, just avoid going in weekends and holidays.

Since Batangas is almost every local and tourists favorite summer destination especially the people in Manila, they travel every once in a while to avoid the busy and suffocating smokes of the city and wanted to have a different vibe. Batangas is part of southern luzon and we know that it is a location that is rich in marine biodiversity. Malabrigo lighthouse and beaches is one of the tourist spots that I highly recommended as a start for your travel in Batangas. One day, I also wish to travel Punta Fuego which is happening soon and Punta Verde and of course the Verde Island passage. I mentioned that soon I will be travelling to Punta Fuego that is located in Nasugbu, Batangas. From Manila it should only take about 2.5 hours of travel and its a perfect destination to relax as I was told. It have parking, restaurants, pools and thank god a Wifi. I also have a similar place that I want to go to which is Punta Verde Resort located in Lobo, Batangas. From Manila, it takes about 4-5 hours of travel and may be longer than expected but a lot of people are saying that a trip to Punta Verde is totally worth it. Since the resort offers privacy, nature calling scenery, luxury, and adventure. Someday, I will travel and experience a vacation that I will really enjoy.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
